About SHINDIGGIN
Shindiggin is dedicated to preserving the tradition of square dancing,
and we offer many choices for people of all ages. We provide
customized on-site instruction, and hold dances for a wide variety of
social and corporate events. Shindiggin has recently produced a book
and CD with music and singing calls for self-instruction so that square
dancing can be enjoyed by eight or more dancers, anytime and anywhere.
Linda Ginou
Born and raised on a farm in Dixie, Ontario, Linda square danced in her community
in her youth. She had a long-term career as a teacher and mother of five
children, and achieved Supervisor of Music in both Instrumental and Vocal
Music in
1968. She
established her own international business in 1980, and began square dancing
again in 2001. For several years, Linda has been singing calls several times
a week at various dances in the local community. She is passionate about
preserving the tradition of square dancing and introducing young people to
the dance. Linda is a Caller Member of the Canadian Olde Tyme Square Dance
Callers' Association.
Ernie Shoebridge
In teaching and education for over 34 years, Ernie has also had country
music and square dancing as a vital part of his life since he was a young
boy.
He has been calling for more than 12 years, and teaching square dancing
for the
last five years. While square dancing is his passion, he was also involved
in Clogging and Line Dancing for several years. Ernie has compiled
a collection of
160 Olde Tyme Square Dances that he has learned to love over the years.
Ernie is a Caller Member of the Canadian Olde Tyme Square Dance
Callers' Association.
